Introduction

What Is Sulus.ai?

Sulus.ai gives your business three connected ways to handle customers without adding headcount. A voice assistant answers and places phone calls in natural conversation. Automations and workflows keep your calendar, CRM, and payment tools in sync in the background. A chat agent talks with visitors on your website and gets real things done in the middle of the conversation, not just after it ends. All three run from one account, work from the same information about your business, and are built to sound like you, not like a script.

You do not need any technical background to use any of it. Everything in this guide is set up from your portal, the same one whether you signed up directly or through a Sulus reseller's own branded version of it.

How It Works, In Plain Terms

When someone calls your business or starts a chat on your website, Sulus listens to what they say or type and responds in a natural back-and-forth conversation. Behind that conversation, it can check your calendar, look up or update a customer record, take a payment, or bring in a real person, all before the call or chat ends. Automations handle the same kind of work even when nobody is on the line at all, moving information between the tools you already use the moment something changes.

Going Further

Every assistant's tone and behavior come from its system prompt, and its connected tools and transfer settings live in the same place: the Advanced Editor. See How to Write and Update Your Assistant's System Prompt for a full walkthrough.

Three Ways Sulus Works For You

Sulus.ai is not one single tool with a few extra features bolted on. It is three products that work together. Use one, or use all three together as your business grows.

What You Can Do From Day One

  • Answer and place phone calls in a natural, human-sounding conversation, day or night
  • Talk with website visitors by chat or voice, using the same knowledge as your phone line
  • Check real calendar availability and book appointments during a call or a chat
  • Take payment in the middle of a call or conversation, with no separate link to send
  • Keep your CRM updated automatically as calls, chats, and automations happen
  • Move information between the tools you already use in the background, with automations that run with nobody on the line at all

Getting Started in Your Portal

These are the actual steps to go from a new account to a working assistant. They work the same way whether you signed up directly or through a reseller's own branded version of the portal.

  1. Sign up and choose a plan. Plans range from a single-assistant starter tier up to higher-volume tiers built for busier businesses and resellers. See Pricing Plans for current tiers and what each one includes.
  2. Build your first voice assistant. Your portal walks you through five short steps: Company Information (either let it scan your website or enter your details by hand if you do not have one), Assistant Personality (choose who answers your calls), Call Scripts (your opening greeting and closing message), Notifications (where call summaries get texted or emailed), and Phone Number (keep your existing number and forward it, or get a new dedicated line). Most businesses finish all five in well under ten minutes. See Creating a New Voice Assistant for the full walkthrough.
  3. Connect the tools you already use. From your portal, link your calendar, CRM, and payment processor so your assistant can check availability, update records, and take payment on its own. See Integrations & Connections for the supported tools and setup steps. If your process needs something a standard connection does not cover, a custom automation can be built around it, covered in Automations & Workflows: What They Can Do.
  4. Add a chat agent to your website, if you want one. The same conversation ability that answers your phone can also live on your site as a chat agent, checking availability, booking, and updating records mid-conversation. See Agentic Chat: What It Can Do for what it covers.
  5. Go live, then test it yourself. Once everything is saved, place a real call (or start a real chat) the way a customer would. Confirm the greeting sounds right, a booking actually lands on your calendar, and any transfer or handoff reaches the right person.

Save, Then Test By Calling

Every setting you save here can be changed later, and every change is kept in version history, so testing and adjusting after you go live is expected, not something to get perfect on the first try.
