How to Transfer Your Go High Level (GHL) Account to Sulus.ai

Go High Level

Before You Begin: Preparing for Your GHL Account Transfer

If you already have an existing Go High Level (GHL) account and are joining Sulus.ai, we can transfer your account so it operates under our platform. This keeps all of your existing data, contacts, workflows, and funnels intact rather than starting over from scratch.

This guide walks you through exactly what to do, step by step. The transfer process itself is handled within GHL and typically takes less than 30 minutes of active work on your part. There are a few things you should prepare in advance.

Your Sulus.ai Agency Relationship Number

The single most important piece of information you will need during the transfer is the Sulus.ai Agency Relationship Number. This number is required when initiating the transfer inside GHL.

It is the unique identifier GoHighLevel uses to route your sub-account to Sulus.ai during transfer. It is not a password or credential. You (or your current agency, depending on your account type) will enter this number into the GHL transfer dialog to direct your sub-account to us.

How to get this number: Contact your Sulus.ai representative to receive the Agency Relationship Number. We provide it directly to confirmed customers as part of the migration process, which also lets us prepare to approve your transfer promptly on our end.

Estimated Timeline

PhaseDuration
Pre-Transfer Preparation10 to 15 minutes
Initiating the Transfer5 to 10 minutes
Transfer ProcessingImmediate once approved
Post-Transfer Reconfiguration15 to 30 minutes (we help with this)

What You Will Need

Please have all of the following ready before you begin the transfer process.

  • Access to your current Go High Level account (login credentials)
  • Access to the email address associated with your GHL account
  • The Sulus.ai Agency Relationship Number (obtained from your Sulus.ai representative)
  • A list of any third-party integrations you currently use (Google, Facebook, Stripe, QuickBooks, etc.)
  • Approximately 30 minutes of uninterrupted time

Critical

Do not cancel your current GHL subscription before the transfer is complete. The transfer must happen while your account is still active. Once the transfer is finalized, your Sulus.ai representative will guide you on next steps for your old subscription.

How to Determine Your GHL Account Type

Before you can transfer your Go High Level account, you need to know what type of GHL account you have.

The transfer process differs depending on your account type. Use the guide below to determine which scenario applies to you.

Scenario A: You Signed Up with GHL Directly

If you purchased your Go High Level subscription directly from Go High Level (not through a reseller or agency), your account is technically an agency account with a sub-account underneath it where all of your data lives. This is how GHL structures every direct signup, even for solo businesses.

How to confirm: Log in to your GHL account. If you see an Agency view or a Sub-Accounts option in your left sidebar menu, you have an agency account. You are the agency owner, and you have full authority to initiate the transfer yourself.

Transfer method: You will initiate the transfer from your own agency dashboard. Follow the instructions in the "Transferring Your GHL Account: Direct Signup Instructions" section of this guide.

Scenario B: You Are Under Another Agency or Reseller

If your GHL account was set up by another company, agency, or reseller (for example, through a white-label platform with a different brand name), your account is a sub-account under their agency. You may not have agency-level access.

How to confirm: If you do not see Sub-Accounts in your sidebar, or if your GHL login screen shows a brand name other than "Go High Level," you are likely under another agency.

Transfer method: Your current agency must initiate the transfer on your behalf. You will need to contact them and request the transfer. Follow the instructions in the "Transferring Your GHL Account: Agency or Reseller Instructions" section of this guide.

Note

Not sure which scenario applies to you? Contact your Sulus.ai representative, and we will help you determine your account type before proceeding.

Transferring Your GHL Account: Direct Signup Instructions

If you signed up with Go High Level directly and have agency-level access, follow these steps to transfer your sub-account to Sulus.ai. This section covers both the preparation work and the actual transfer submission inside GHL.

Part 1 of 2: Pre-Transfer Preparation

Before initiating the transfer, complete the following preparation steps to ensure a smooth process.

  1. Set workflows and campaigns to Draft. Go to Automations and set all active workflows and campaigns to Draft status. This is a required step before GHL will allow the transfer to proceed.
  2. Set user types to Account. Go to Settings, then Team Management. For every user you want to transfer with the account, ensure their User Type is set to Account and that they are assigned only to this specific sub-account.
  3. Cancel marketplace add-on subscriptions. If you have any active marketplace subscriptions (WordPress hosting, Yext listings, WhatsApp, Dedicated IP, etc.), these must be canceled before the transfer. They can be reactivated after the transfer is complete.
  4. Have your Sulus.ai Agency Relationship Number ready. If you do not already have this, contact your Sulus.ai representative to receive it. You will enter this number into the GHL transfer dialog in the next step.

✓ Success

You will know Part 1 is complete when all workflows show Draft status, user types are set to Account, and you have your Sulus.ai Agency Relationship Number on hand.

Part 2 of 2: Initiating the Transfer

  1. Log into your Go High Level account.
  2. Navigate to the Agency view by clicking on Sub-Accounts in the left sidebar.
  3. Find the sub-account you want to transfer and click on the three-dot menu or the Manage Client button.
  4. Click Actions in the top right corner and select Transfer Sub-Account.
  5. Select Transfer to an Existing Agency when prompted.
  6. Enter the Sulus.ai Agency Relationship Number provided by your representative.
  7. Review the transfer guidelines that GHL displays. Check the confirmation box.
  8. Enter your password to confirm the transfer.
  9. Notify your Sulus.ai representative that you have submitted the transfer request so we can approve it promptly on our end.

Menu Path

Agency Level > Sub-Accounts > Manage Client > Actions > Transfer Sub-Account > Transfer to an Existing Agency

✓ Success

You will know Part 2 is complete when GHL confirms the transfer request has been submitted. Sulus.ai will receive an email notification and an in-app notification, and we will review and approve the request as quickly as possible. Your sub-account will be transferred to our platform as soon as we approve.

Transferring Your GHL Account: Agency or Reseller Instructions

If your Go High Level account is managed by another agency or reseller, the transfer must be initiated by them. You cannot transfer the sub-account yourself because you do not have agency-level access.

Here is what you need to do.

Steps to Request the Transfer

  1. Contact your current agency or reseller. Let them know you would like to transfer your sub-account to a different agency.
  2. Provide them with the Sulus.ai Agency Relationship Number. If you do not already have this, contact your Sulus.ai representative to receive it. This is the unique identifier your current agency will enter into GHL to direct your sub-account to us.
  3. Your current agency initiates the transfer. They will go to their Agency dashboard, find your sub-account, click Manage Client, then Actions, then Transfer Sub-Account, and enter the Sulus.ai Relationship Number.
  4. Notify your Sulus.ai representative. Once your current agency confirms they have submitted the request, let us know so we can approve it on our end.
  5. Sulus.ai approves the transfer. Your account will be moved to our platform as soon as we approve the request.

✓ Success

You will know this is complete when Sulus.ai approves the transfer and your sub-account appears under our agency.

Important

If your current agency is unresponsive or unwilling to initiate the transfer, contact your Sulus.ai representative. We can help you explore alternative options, including contacting GHL support directly for assistance.

What Transfers and What Does Not in a GHL Sub-Account Transfer

Understanding what moves with your Go High Level account and what needs to be reconfigured is critical for setting the right expectations.

The GHL sub-account transfer moves your entire sub-account as-is. It is not a merge and it cannot be done partially. Everything inside the sub-account moves together.

Note on Merging

GHL does not support merging two sub-accounts. As GHL describes it, a sub-account transfer is "a movement of the entire sub-account, not a movement of just the data inside of it." If you already have a new sub-account created with Sulus.ai, we will manage that separately on our end.

What Transfers Automatically

ItemDetails
ContactsAll contacts, conversations, appointments, opportunities, and history
Websites and FunnelsAll websites and funnels transfer with the account
GHL CalendarsCalendar configurations transfer (external calendar integrations like Google and Outlook will be disconnected and need reconnecting)
Automations and WorkflowsAll workflows transfer with the account. We recommend reviewing each workflow after the transfer to confirm its status and behavior before relying on it.
MembershipsAccess to memberships will remain
API KeysSub-account level API keys remain the same
UsersUsers with User Type "Account" assigned only to this sub-account will transfer
Pipeline and Opportunity DataAll pipeline stages, opportunities, and associated data
Phone Numbers (LC Phone)If both agencies use LeadConnector Phone, numbers and A2P registrations transfer automatically with no downtime

What Does Not Transfer (Requires Reconfiguration)

ItemWhat to Expect
Auth ConnectionsAll connections to Google, Facebook, Instagram, QuickBooks, and similar services will be deleted. You will need to reconnect these after the transfer.
Email SetupMailgun, SMTP, and LC Email configurations will not transfer. Sulus.ai will help configure email on our end.
Phone Numbers (Twilio)If either agency uses Twilio instead of LC Phone, phone numbers will not transfer automatically. These must be handled separately through Twilio.
Stripe / Payment ProcessorPayment processor connections must be reconfigured. You will need to reconnect your Stripe or other payment gateway.
Smart ListsSmart Lists do not currently transfer. These will need to be recreated.
Marketplace SubscriptionsWordPress, Yext, WhatsApp, Dedicated IP, and other marketplace add-ons must be canceled before transfer and reactivated after.
Custom DomainThe domain assigned by the original agency will be removed. Sulus.ai will help you configure your domain after the transfer.
SaaS SettingsAny SaaS configuration will be automatically disabled before the transfer.

✓ The Good News

Your core business data (contacts, conversations, history, funnels, workflows) all transfer intact. The items that need reconfiguration are integrations and connections, which the Sulus.ai team will help you set back up after the transfer.

After the Transfer: Reconnecting Integrations and Next Steps

Once Sulus.ai approves your GHL transfer request, your sub-account will immediately appear under our agency. Here is what happens next and what you will need to do to get your account fully operational under the Sulus.ai platform.

Immediate Next Steps

  1. Verify your login. Log into your GHL account using your existing credentials. Your account will now be accessible through the Sulus.ai platform. If you have any login issues, contact your Sulus.ai representative immediately.
  2. Reconnect your calendar. Go to Settings, then My Profile, then Calendar Settings, and reconnect your Google or Outlook calendar. Enable two-way sync.
  3. Reconnect integrations. Reconnect any third-party integrations you were using: Google My Business, Facebook, Instagram, QuickBooks, or others. Go to Settings, then Integrations, and follow the connection prompts for each.
  4. Reconnect your payment processor. Go to Payments, then Integrations, and reconnect your Stripe or other payment gateway.
  5. Review your workflows. Go to Automations, then Workflows. Review each workflow to confirm its status and that it is configured correctly before relying on it.
  6. Configure your domain. Your Sulus.ai representative will help you set up or transfer your custom domain to work under the new account.

GHL Account Transfer: Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about transferring a Go High Level (GHL) account to Sulus.ai. If you do not see your question answered below, reach out to your Sulus.ai representative.

Will I lose any of my data during the transfer?

No. All contacts, conversations, appointments, opportunities, history, funnels, websites, workflows, and memberships transfer intact. The items that need reconfiguration are external integrations and connections (Google, Facebook, Stripe, etc.), not your actual data.

Can I transfer just part of my GHL account?

No. GHL transfers are all-or-nothing. The entire sub-account moves together. You cannot selectively transfer some data while leaving other data behind.

Can I merge my existing account with a new account Sulus.ai already created for me?

No. GHL does not support merging sub-accounts. As GHL describes it, a sub-account transfer is a movement of the entire sub-account, not a movement of just the data inside of it. The transfer moves your existing sub-account as-is to our agency. If we already created a new sub-account for you, we will manage that on our end.

What happens to my current GHL subscription after the transfer?

The transfer moves your sub-account out of your current agency, but it does not automatically cancel your existing GHL subscription. If you signed up directly with GHL, you will need to cancel that subscription separately after the transfer is complete. Your Sulus.ai representative can guide you through this.

How long does the GHL transfer take?

Once you submit the transfer request and Sulus.ai approves it, the transfer is immediate. The preparation steps and post-transfer reconfiguration are what take the most time, typically 30 to 60 minutes total.

What if I have multiple GHL sub-accounts?

If you have more than one sub-account (for example, separate accounts for different businesses), each one can be transferred. GHL also supports a bulk transfer option where multiple sub-accounts can be submitted in a single request using their Location IDs. Let your Sulus.ai representative know how many sub-accounts are involved, and we will coordinate the transfer of all of them at no additional cost.

What if my current agency will not initiate the transfer?

If your current agency is unresponsive or declines to transfer your account, contact your Sulus.ai representative. We can help you explore options including reaching out to GHL support directly. Unfortunately, GHL currently requires the agency owner to initiate the transfer, so this may require some coordination.

Will my phone number change during the GHL transfer?

If both agencies are using LeadConnector (LC) Phone, your phone numbers and A2P registrations will transfer automatically with no downtime. If either side is using Twilio, phone numbers do not transfer automatically and will need to be handled separately. Your Sulus.ai representative will confirm which scenario applies to you.

Is there any downtime during the transfer?

The transfer itself is nearly instant once approved. However, during the reconfiguration period (reconnecting integrations, email, and phone), some services may be temporarily unavailable. We recommend scheduling the transfer during a low-activity period for your business.

My GHL account is HIPAA-compliant. Does anything change?

Yes. If your GHL account has HIPAA Compliance enabled, please contact your Sulus.ai representative before initiating the transfer. We will coordinate the additional steps required to transfer a HIPAA-compliant sub-account properly.
